Speaker: Mrinalini Rajagopalan
As academics we know that we are supposed to write: a lot. We also know what we should be writing about and for whom. Often, however, the process of writing, the daily labor of putting words on a blank page, is shrouded in mystery. Over the past year I have worked diligently to start and maintain a daily (Mon-Fri) writing practice. In this colloquium I will share some of the strategies that have helped me such as writing process groups and dedicating sacred time and space to writing. I also invite others to reflect on their own writing process and share the rituals, routines, and tips that keep them on track with writing. Demystifying the writing process is key to creating more equitable intellectual communities.
