This paper examines two nuclear waste sites, Onkalo in Finland and Waste Isolation Pilot Plant in New Mexico, and measures their hypothetical success by looking to the Stepped Pyramid of Djoser. The 4,500 year history of this burial monument might suggest a monumental nuclear waste marker may be unsuccessful at preventing human intervention.
