Vuković will give a presentation on a paper that he will present at the upcoming SECAC conference as part of the American Art session. His talk will focus on the monumental work Electronic Superhighway: Continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii (1995) by Nam June Paik. This paper will examine how Paik, under the guise of flashing screens, tackles issues of race, class, and politics enforced by the highways built to disrupt Black, Brown, and poor communities in the U.S., with an end goal of destroying, isolating, and deteriorating them.
