Featuring artworks by three women artists, Sandra C. Fernández, Tania Candiani, and Lilliam Nieves, the exhibit reflects on diverse notions of the female body and individual and collective approaches to demanding and creating change in our societies. An Unfinished Journey: Embodying the Feminist City contests an ongoing regulation and surveillance of the female body as well as different forms of violence that take place both within and outside the domestic sphere. Through the lens of the "feminist city," it condemns misogyny and other forms of violence that are sanctioned through institutional, political, and social norms and policies. In video, printmaking, and sculpture, these Latina and Latinx artists support activism and invite viewers to join forces in the name of freedom. The gallery guide can be accessed here.
