In her role as organizer for the 2023 Multidisciplinary Graduate Conference in Premodern Studies hosted by the Newberry Library Center for Renaissance Studies (Jan 26-28), PhD Candidate Claire Ptaschinski will chair a panel on January 28, 2023 on "Nature and Mutability," which will consider of topics as varies as Shakespeare's "The Tempest," premodern scientific innovation, and typologies of water in early printed texts. Additionally, she will lead a presentation on an object in the Newberry's collection, Giovanni Battista Falda's "Il nuovo teatro delle chiese di Roma" (1667-1669), a series of printed elevations of the buildings and piazzas of 17th-century Rome.
