Annika Johnson presented a facet of her dissertation work in progress, “Flesh and Stone: Interpreting the Sacred in Dakota and Euro-American Art,” at the prestigious international workshop: Fashioned from Holy Matter: A Cross-Cultural Workshop on the Semantics of Image Making, which was held at the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florence on July 6 and 7.
