Huey Copeland, Lauren Taylor, and HAA Graduate Students visited Chicago to attend the Panafrica Days Symposium at the University of Chicago’s Neubauer Collegium for Culture and Society. The daylong event focused on the artists and ideas presented in the exhibition “Project a Black Planet: The Art and Culture of Panafrica,” now on view at the Art Institute of Chicago. Students and faculty attended this important symposium and landmark exhibition as part of Copeland's graduate seminar "Art History after Intersectionality." Copeland also participated in the symposium as part of the panel "On the Circulation and Transmission of Africa/Diasporic Aesthetic Practices."
