Kirk Savage, HAA professor, was featured recently in Pittwire for his work on Monument Lab, a nonprofit that "facilitates critical conversations around the past, present, and future of monuments". Together with Monument Lab, Savage has worked on a new action on the National Mall in Washington, DC called Beyond Granite, which hopes to cultivate a more "equitable and representative commemorative landscape on the National Mall". The first exhibition in support of this initiative is Pulling Together which will feature work from contemporary artists of color around the Reflecting Pool and Lincoln Memorial.
