On March 17, graduate student Rebecca Lowery presented her paper “The Parable of Lazarus and the Rich Man at the Church of Saint Pierre: Economic Morality in the Middle Ages,” at the Vagantes Conference on Medieval Studies hosted by Harvard University. Her paper analyzes the portal and capital depicting the Parable of Lazarus in the historical context of lepers to the font of Saint Julian, arguing the representation aligns with the perceived immorality of money in contemporary society.
