On February 2, 2024, Andrea Maxwell led a graduate student workshop and gave a public lecture titled, "Symbolic Violence and the Jew in Premodern Italian Art," at Kent State University as part of the School of Art's Visiting Artist and Scholar Lecture Series. This talk explored how the death of Simon of Trent in 1475 ignited a wave of Antisemitic imagery and visual rhetoric that persists into the twenty-first century.
