Rebecca Giordano received the Getty Residential Predoctoral Fellowship at the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles for academic year 2022–2023. While at the Getty, Giordano will be at work on her dissertation alongside a group of international scholars convened around the theme of Art and Migration. The Robert Rauschenberg Foundation awarded her a writing residency at Rauschenberg's home and studio on Capita Island. Inspired by Rauschenberg's formative experience at Black Mountain College, Giordano will join a cohort of artists and writers selected for their anti-canonical approach "thereby reflecting Rauschenberg’s nimble mind, iconoclastic spirit, multidisciplinary orientation, and generous concern for the larger world."
