Graduate student Paula Kupfer's article, "Variations on Landscape, Environment, and History: Lola Álvarez Bravo's Paisajes de México (1954)" was recently published in Dialectic, vol. X ("Decarbonizing Design / Mobilizing Agency" ), a peer-review journal of the School of Architecture at the University of Utah. The article develops an ecocritical reading of Mexican photographer Álvarez Bravo's expansive photomontage Paisajes de México (Landscapes of Mexico, 1954), which depicts signal works of Mexican architecture alongside features of its natural environment.
