Volume 7 of Contemporaneity, Presenting Race: Institutional Contexts and Critiques, was published on October 31, 2018. This special issue was inspired by the History of Art and Architecture's inaugural Andrew W. Mellon Foundation-funded Consortium Workshop, Race-ing the Museum, with participants selected from across the University of Pittsburgh. Coming from the fields of anthropology, communication, education, and theatre arts as well as art history, the articles in this edition are extremely diverse, taking a broad view of institutions and race. Like the workshop, this issue seeks to contribute to the conversation surrounding race and institutions.
