Organized by the History of Art and Architecture Graduate Student Organization HAA GSO this conversation is the 2020 Spring semester initiative on professional development.
In this presentation Dr. Hylton will explore public/academic, independent, and freelance curating. Through discussing several projects, he will consider methods and approaches to working in and navigating the contemporary art field. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions at the end.
Dr. Richard Hylton recently curated exhibitions by artists Eugene Palmer and Anthony Key and published Decolonising the Curriculum and Black Art UK/US in Art Monthly. He has also made contributions to the Routledge Companion to African American Art History and a special edition of Nka: Journal of Contemporary African Art.
