The Department of History of Art and Architecture’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion has been recognized in the announcement that the University Art Gallery has been awarded a University Prize for Strategic, Inclusive and Diverse Excellence (“UPSIDE”).
The prize recognizes UAG Director Sylvia Rhor Samaniego for the “dynamic, evocative programming and engagement facilitated by the University Art Gallery—including the impactful Black Lives in Focus initiative and renowned Women of Visions exhibition,” and praised the activities of the UAG as “an ideal institutional equity and justice engagement model.”
Please join Chancellor Patrick Gallagher and Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Clyde Pickett in a presentation of the UPSIDE awards in a webinar program ‘Creating A Just Community’ program on Tuesday, January 18 | 11:30am – 12:30pm. Register for the event here.
