Dan Leers
This talk will focus on Black Photojournalism, the first comprehensive project to consider the work of Black photojournalists active in the United States from the conclusion of World War II to the presidential campaigns of 1984 opening at Carnegie Museum of Art in September 2025. Curator of photography Dan Leers will discuss some of the ways in which Black photographers working for national and regional publications recorded history in the making during pivotal decades of social change in our nation. He will also touch on the catalogue, podcast, and other related programming being planned in conjunction with the exhibition.
