We are saddened by the passing of our dear colleague, Fil Hearn, on October 31, 2024. He is remembered fondly by colleagues and family, and you can read more about Fil as he is remembered by colleague M. Alison Stones and his obituary written by his family.
Fil Hearn has published widely on architectural history and theory in the medieval and modern periods, most recently in his award-winning book Ideas That Shaped Buildings. For twenty-five years he served as Director of the University of Pittsburgh's Architectural Studies Program.
